A timeless film wedding day in South Bend at The LaSalle
When we first met Heidy and Salvador at the Indiana Dunes State Park for their engagement session, we instantly knew that their wedding day would be a special one. Their celebration was full of joy, intention, and so many beautiful moments that translated perfectly onto 35mm film.
We joined the couple early in the day to capture detail photos of their invitation suite and venue, before joining the two getting ready. We always encourage our couples to carve out special time for each other during the wedding day, whether that is a first look, a first touch, or even exchanging of notes or gifts. These two felt a first touch would be the most meaningful to them, where they get to share a moment together, and still have a special moment of seeing each other down the aisle for the first time.
After the most beautiful ceremony where they exchanged their vows in front of their closest family and friends, we travelled to Saint Mary’s College for their portrait time. The grounds timeless architecture and lush surroundings, we had the most fitting backgrounds to be captured on film.
The evening continued at The LaSalle in South Bend, where the reception space was transformed into a warm, intimate celebration space. On film, and especially in black and white, the venue carried such sophistication, the contrast and texture of each image gave the entire gallery timeless character.
If you’re planning a wedding in South Bend, venues like The LaSalle are a perfect choice for an elegant celebration, and nearby spaces like Saint Mary’s College offer incredible portrait locations. We had so much fun documenting their wedding day on both Black and White 35mm Film as well as Digital Coverage.
